Our Olive and Green Eggers are an ongoing project striving to raise birds that lay beautiful green and olive eggs. We are currently working in the F1 to F3 generations and back crosses. Back crosses do have a chance of laying brown eggs in varying shades. On average they lay 4-6 eggs a week and sometimes with beautiful speckles.

They come in a variety of colors! I do have some “cull” Ermine in my Olive Egger pen so there is a chance to receive a Ermine Olive Egger.

Eggs from this dozen will include F1 which will be either a blue/green or brown egg. F2/F3 are different shades of green to green with a heavy bloom that makes it appear grey. Heavier bloom eggs can be more challenging to hatch. When hatching out the F2 + there is a chance for chocolate laying due to genetics. There are two pens currently one has a Cream Legbar hens with a BCM cockbird and the other has Olive Egger hens with a BCM rooster and Olive Egger rooster.

Olive Eggers are a hybrid and can hatch in various colors which also could include blue, black, spotted, barred, and many more!

There are no guarantees on what colors will hatch out or what the hens will lay. Genetics are wild thing!

Pictures are examples.

All of our chicks are sold straight-run (unsexed) unless otherwise specified. There is a 8 chick minimum for shipping when purchasing chicks.
We cannot guarantee what color of egg your chick will grow up to lay; however, we do post example egg photos from our flock and select quality breeding birds to reduce the chances of birds laying different from what is expected.
